Samsung SSD Data Recovery

Samsung is the world’s largest maker of flash memory and one of the best-selling SSD brands in the UK. Samsung drives are generally reliable, but controller, firmware and power faults do happen – and portable T7 drives are frequently dropped, bent or damaged at the USB-C port.

Data Retrieval Ltd recovers data from all internal and portable Samsung SSDs, including OEM Samsung drives fitted inside laptops.

Known Samsung SSD Issues

  • 870 EVO drives developing large numbers of bad blocks and read errors
  • 840 EVO slow-read problem on old data
  • T7 / T7 Shield not recognised after a knock, or USB-C connector damage
  • Controller failure after power loss – drive not detected or shows 0 bytes
  • Samsung hardware encryption (T7 Touch fingerprint / password) – recovery requires the password

Before You Send It

Deleted files on SSDs: most SSDs use TRIM, which tells the drive to erase deleted blocks in the background. Once TRIM has run, deleted files usually cannot be recovered by anyone. If you have just deleted something from an SSD, shut the computer down straight away and contact us – the sooner we image the drive, the better the chance.
