Lenovo Laptop Data Recovery

Lenovo is the world’s largest PC maker, and ThinkPads remain the laptop of choice for many businesses, universities and developers. We recover data from all Lenovo laptops, including ThinkPads with self-encrypting drives and BIOS hard-disk passwords.

If your Lenovo laptop shows an error at start-up, will not detect its SSD or has suffered a spill, switch it off and contact us for a free assessment.

Common Lenovo Faults

  • “Error 2100: Detection error on HDD0 (Main HDD)” at start-up
  • BitLocker recovery screen or a forgotten BIOS hard-disk password
  • NVMe SSD failure after a power surge or firmware issue
  • Liquid spills – ThinkPad keyboards drain spills, but many IdeaPad and Yoga models do not
  • Accidentally reset Windows or deleted partitions
Before you send your device – five things to avoid
  • Switch the device off and leave it off – every power cycle can make physical damage worse
  • Do not run CHKDSK, Disk First Aid, fsck or recovery software on a drive that clicks, beeps or is slow
  • Do not open the drive or swap the circuit board – modern boards hold drive-specific adaptive data
  • Do not reinstall the operating system or initialise the disk when prompted
  • Keep liquid-damaged devices unpowered and bring them in as quickly as possible
